Q : 빛이 부족한 환경에서 키울 수 있나요?
A : 빛이 충분한 공간이 아니더라도 식물 생장 조명으로 생육이 가능하며 겨울에 춥지 않은 환경 (10도 이상) 에서 쉽게 키우실 수 있습니다. 실내환경에 매우 적합한 식물입니다.
Q : 물은 평소에 어떻게 주나요? (키우는 환경, 식물에 따라 달라질 수 있습니다.)
A : 봄-여름 성장기인 아프리카 식물은, 바디가 수축이 되는 경우 관수하며 환경에 따라 1주~2주 1회, 충분히 관수하고
날씨가 서늘해지는 가을부터 천천히 물주기를 줄여 겨울엔 2~3주 1회, 겉흙만 젖을 정도로 가볍게 주시면 됩니다.
(휴면기 환경에 따라 낙엽이 질 수 있습니다.)

Pachypodium gracilius (H.Perrier)
DISTRIBUTION : Isalo Mts, between Ranohira and Onilahy River.
HABIT : Shrub-like plant up to 80cm high, with mostly subglobose thickening of trunk and few branchings;
in the southern part of its area of distribution much more branched.
ECOLOGY : On sandstone rocks. Alt. 100-1000m, in full exposure.
CULTIVATION : Substrate loose peat with a little sand.
Temperature from spring to autumn:nocturnal 15°C and diurnal 35°C. Wintering : nocturnal 6°C or more and diurnal20°C or more.
It flowers profusely in spring. It requires much water during the growth period.
Pachypodium eburneum (Lavranos & Rapanarivo)
DISTRIBUTION : M tIbity.
HABIT : Tuberous plant with thick branches and few ramifications, up to 40cm high.
ECOLOGY : On quartz rocks in sandy humus. Alt. c. 1600m, in full sun.
CULTIVATION : Substrate loose peat with quartz sand, pH 3.5. Temperature from spring to autumn: nocturnal 15°C and diurnal 25°C or more. Wintering: nocturnal 5°C and diurnal15°C or more.
It flowers profusely in spring. It requires much water during the growth period.
Pachypodium densiflorum var. brevicalyx (Baker)
DISTRIBUTION : East of Ihosy to Mahatsinjo
HABIT : Tuberous plant with thick branches and with few ramifications. Height up to 50cm, width up to 1m.
ECOLOGY : On steep gneiss and quartz rocks. Alt. 750-2000m.
CULTIVATION : Substrate loose peat, pH3.5-4. Temperature from spring to autumn: nocturnal 14°C or more, diurnal 20-35°C.
Wintering: nocturnal 5-10°C and diurnal 15-25°C. It flowers in spring. Much water when it is growing.
Pachypodium makayense (Lavranos)
DISTRIBUTION : Native of the massif of Makay, in the Menabe, Tulear province, South of Madagascar.
HABIT : Shrub-like plant with tuberous base,varying in size depending on the ecology.
ECOLOGY : Between Ankarafantsika and Analalava on quartz sand in dry forest up to 2.50m high and at alt .70-150m.
CULTIVATION : Substrate loose peat with gneiss or quartz sand, pH 4.5-6. Temperature from spring to autumn:nocturnal18°C and diurnal 35°C. Wintering : nocturnal15°C and diurnal 20°C. It flowers in spring. It requires much water during the growth period.
